PKW SMART offline programming with MB Star Xentry

Here is some files and tips on offline programming for Mercedes PKW/SMART by MB technician.
vehicles: PKW/SMART
Software: Xentry XP, XDOS(32/64) and Xentry Pass-Thru (32/64)
Release: 2015 until 07-2016.

Device: the updated firmware SD connect c5 or SD connect c4

ps:
- i don't password it because it is for educational only.
- do at your own risk
- no support but if i get your valuable feedback, i will try to fix it if i could.
- you can't combine with online capabilities of the latest xdos. better make a batch file to switch between offline and online.
it is simple because it is only one folder..

e.g:
- copy your original das\trees\pkw\flashen and rename to e.g: flashenOnline
- extract the offline patch to the flashen folder

so you have 2 folders.
1. flashen (with offline capability)
2. flashenOnline which is the original

make one click batch file to change between them when needed.

MB Star C3 DAS Fault (1.1)-1.501.9504 (Solved)

I have had a Mercedes diagnostic machine MB STAR C3 for a while and i decided to try and make it work, but every time i try to communicate with the car i get  an error message saying :

Fault (1.1)-1.501.9504
Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed. Possible causes: The link between the diagnosis multiplexer and the diagnostic socket is interrupted. The link between the diagnosis multiplexer and the diagnostic unit is interrupted. The voltage supply at the diagnostic socket (circuit 30 and (or) circuit 31) is faulty.

Error codes analysis:

error code 95xx: C3 mux settings is committed
error code 9551: means no C3 mux is connected
error code 9504: means Star C3 is connected and error in mux error code 9500: means C3 is connected but error in COM settings to COM2
error code 99xx: means C4 mux settings is committed

So the error is 9504 means mux is read by software and mux is burned

But C3 mux is working on 3 main communication objects:
1- CanBus
2- K-line
3- L-line

your mux may still work if one circuit is burned like CanBus circuit burned but still you have other 2 working on K-line and L-line

Detailed possibilities of unsuccessful communication:

1 COM port setup improperly or broken COM serial on the laptop

2 New models that old STAR C3 cannot support

3 Something wrong with C3 diagnostic mux

4 Something wrong with cables

Thus, MBSTARSHOP advice is to check your mux on other laptop, OR you may find your COM serial on your laptop is broken or do opposite check other mux on your laptop to find what is wrong. if all is ok, that is two possible occasions:

1 the model cannot not be supported by Star c3 and you should buy SD connect c4

2 the software can not run ok and you can try new V2016.5 MB Star C3 Software

SDconnect Toolkit Incorrect parameter fault (599) Solution

Here is the resolution of Mercedes MB Star diagnosis SD Connect C4 2016.05 Xentry SDconnect Toolkit incorrect parameter fault.

Problem:
I have installed 05.2016 XDOS on Win7 32bit, everything were ok during installation and after, but when i tried to connect my sd connect via Lan i got message like on photo that parameters are incorrect. I have reinstalled XDOS again and got the same message, then i tried to install on 64-bit system and this time everything works. What could be the reason?

Customer solution:

Change your computer name with word A - Z , i think your computer name with Russian Word,

after change computer name, reboot PC..

All will be fine..

Result:

It worked. 2016.05 Xentry now runs no problem.

MB Star C3 Xentry Fault(1.2)-2.503.13003 Initialization failed

Files c32s.dll and CAL 872 fix can solve Xentry/DAS Fault(1.2)-2.503.13003 “Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed”, said users with Chinese MB STAR C3 diagnostic tool.

Multiplexer:

Error message:

"Fault(1.2)-2.503.13003

Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed
Possible causes:
The link between the diagnosis multiplexer an the
diagnostic socket is interrupted

Note:
When using SDconnect, check the connection status

Finally I solved this problem.

It was really a complex combination of faulty hardware and software. I had a problem with that annoying c32s.dll file. I replaced it with the original 01/2011 one plus I used CAL 872 fix version 2 for DAS 07/2011 onwards. Only the c32s.dll solved the problem.

1. download and set the das32R2(032012)
   2. get the c32s.dll of das xentry 01 2012 and replace the existing one in F:/programme/Das/Bin
   3.replace the HHTWin.ini located in c:\Windows :

How to remove hard disk for Xentry Connect C5

It’s aimed to help remove the hard disk from the original Xentry Connect C5 (SD connect C5) Star diagnostic tool.

you need:

Benz SD C5 Connect

a tweezers
a screwdriver

Here goes the key- remove the hard disk within STAR C5 step by step.

remove the  protective layer

use the screwdriver to to take off the screws

  

take off the cover and the card

 

turn to the other side and take off the screws and the cover

  

this is the Xentry connect hard disk

you cannot remove it now

turn to the other side

use the tweezers to take off the side cover gently (pay attention to cables connected)

  

back to the side with the hard disk

now, you can remove it

remove the hard disk from sd connect c5 – SUCCESS!

Done!

MB SD C4 Device not connection solution

One of our customer had the device not connection problem when using Mercedes MB SD Connect C4diagnostic system. Here is the working solution provided by mbstartool.com engineer.

 Solution:

You are required to update the MB SD C4 firmware follow the guide here:

1. Install SD Connect C4 battery 
2. Update SDConnect

He did follow the solution but still had the file for software update error

The problem is that the names are wrong in file “SDconnect Toolkit “, you need to correct them as:

Update_automatic , Update_manual ; Update_Special

Review on Benz Xentry Connect C5 Clone

The new Mercedes Benz diagnostic tool MB SD Connect C5 clone is verified working great. Here are customer feedback to Benz C5 SD Connect (not original Xentry Connect C5).
