Can’t make HHT-Win work under x64 win 7

HTTwin of XDOS work in 32bit only:
win7,
win8,
win10

It’s for XP in old xentry(12_2015-01_2016)
Setup for HTT-WIN working:

COPY HHT Folder :C:program files>Mercedes-Benz>hht
and folder HHTwin in userdata,>config>hhtwin

and change slave=PARTT2

I run the SD connect C4 both on Windows XP(Xentry) & Win7 32bit (XDOS)(with HHTWin12.2015) .
Running Xentry on Win7 32 bits without HHTWin limits one seriously. cant go into specific ML modules without HHTWin . It sucks……32bit is so much faster………..
The speed workaround is using SSD’s. It’s like HTT-WIN 2015.12 from mbstartool.com. If you are new to this, i recommend to buy SSD with pre-installed software. (will avoid lots of issues)

How to make Starfinder work on Windows 7 64-bit

Have spent a few hours trying to combat Mercedes Benz MB Star diagnosis StarFinder on Windows 7 x64 operation system. Googling… reading… And i found a simple way. Hope it works for you too
Instructions are vary simple….

NO NEED for CAD/SVG viewer software to be installed, too view wiring diagrams

so far tested on following versions 2008/v2/2010/2015/2016

Steps to run St finder using Internet Explorer 11 or 10 with Windows 8 and 7

1) Visit http://facinfo.okstate.edu/floor-plans.aspx and select a building ANY ANY ANY ANY

2) You receive notification at the bottom of the browser window to install �Autodesk WHIP ActiveX Control for IE.

3) You will be prompted with a Windows User Account Control dialog to authorize the installation.

Click Yes

and now you are done !!!!

4) Starfinder is ready for use.

    It downloads whip.cab and then places files in following folders\@WINDIR@\Downloaded Program Files\

DAS not recognize all ECUs through 38 pin cable solution

DAS is working perfect on any car with the 16 pin cable and Xentry also is working perfect. But when DAS is connecting with the w210 car through 38 pin cable, DAS only recognize 3 ECUs then nothing, i changed the 38pin cable gives me the same result.


i used windows7 ultimate x64bit with Xentry openshell 5.2016, all patches and fixes are applied.



I changed the old cable with another HQ 38 pin cable, but the same problem!

tried on different car, same problem,
same car tested on old system (MUX MB Star C3 + Windows XP) works perfect



HHT-win system, simply a message said:" HHT-WIN is not available on this system"
but as per the photo only few ECUs are detected, then nothing....





User suggestion on this topic:

Depends on which W210 it is facelift or pre-facelift with FBS3 or older system? For facelift version have to working shortest through DAS. Pre-facelift version/older model is automatically switched to HHTWin. For example as I remember W168 model year 2003-2004? /I forgot/ is full short test in DAS and then if you click on some ecus then is switched to HHTWin. Facelift W210 model have to working full short test in DAS. This is not HHTWin problem. Maybe your hardware have problem with connection to older cars.



Professional advice from mbstartool engineer:

It’s normal. DAS / HHTWin does recognize some ECUs only through 38 pin cable. And there is not ECUs in old cars as many as new cars.

Tips on set up SD Connect DAS 2012.11 Offline programming

Here are the main setup guide of SD connect c4 DAS 2012.11 on offline programming for whose who are not familiar this feature.

Select Control unit adaptions in DAS 2012.11

The select Control module programming (Do not select Read coding option i.e in the picture below)

Then Offline (diagnostic unit not network)

Only if DAS can access here, it can be verified the car and system can be programmed offline.

If the model or system cannot be supported by the offline function, the program maybe pop up message like “coding is been read please wait”. If so, the model or system should be scn coded online, please go for latest DAS v2016.09.

Tips for SAM offline programming:

1 CANNOT update SAM.

The SAM in DAS system maybe the newest so that can not perform offline programming.

2 CANNOT change codes

Only when use the engineering software (Vediamo), users can change codes of SAM and gateway.

MB Star C3 fail work on W204 Customer Solution

MB Star C3 Star diagnostic system failed to work on Mercedes W204? Here is the customer solution. You are at your risk!

Problem:

I have DELL D630 with Xentry 09/2015 and MB Star C3 multiplexer. I have connected many cars (W202, W203, W210, W211, W245, etc) and there is no problem with connection – everything is working like a charm. Some days ago, I have bought W204 C280 from 2007. After I choose model, engine and transmission, and I go to diagnostic I see this:

“The diagnosis application is being started…”

and few seconds later this:

“Initialization of the multiplexer has failed”

My Mux is not compatible with W204? I searched few hours without success.

Customer solution:
W204 and X204 is the last Mercedes models which working without some special modifications.
You can try:

First try in toolkit.ini delete line skipcomports=all and set line usecomport=2 then you will see in SDconnect toolkit PartD on display after mux connection.

First save your original file for sure.

Try look into C:\Userdata\Config\Xentry\driver – slave.ini and set there com port which you have used for PartD.

Report:

There was no change because I didn’t restarted system. After restart work perfect.

Your solution work perfectly! Probem solved. Everything is working like a charm.

Solution 1 – add a file

If you need a simple way for DAS offline programming.

Open F:\Programme\DAS\trees\pkw\flashen\ini on the notepad and add ->

solution 1&2 are diy solutions from DAS users. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

If solutions above remain useless, please try solution 3, the idiot solution.

Solution 3 – enabled DAS offline programming

Spend a little bit money on an enabled DAS for offline programming.

2016.9 Xentry No more updates when program VGS

Here is the analysis of Xentry “No more updates can be installed on the diagnostic system error” when program 7-G tronic transmission.

Problem:
I am using SD Connect C4 with latest MB Star diagnosis 2016.9V Xentry.
I have changed the VGS and need to carry out online scn coding.

But the following prompt appears
“No more updates can be installed on the diagnostic system”

The following functions are not available:
Initial setup
SCN coding
Control unit update

MBstartool technician analysis:

2016.9V Xentry is able to scn code MB transmission. Normally xentry will show more options is this menu interface. But the error screenshot does not have any options.

Possible reason:
1.If you changed a new VGS, check if the Part Number is correct. Or your ECU is damaged.
2. You have changed a second-hand/old VGS (will not be scn coded)

DAS Smart Calculator Code Number incorrect (solved)

Problem:

I want to code Smart 450 EDG with DAS SMART calculator. I’m using SD Connect C4 with DAS 2014.12V hard drive.

But it prompts me an error “The code number entered is incorrect.”

(Die elngegebena Codenummer ist falsch.)
What’s the problem?　The Smart calculator does not work with my DAS version?

(Solved) Xentry 2015 2016 Timeout Error & Not Starting

This is the little fix for MB Star diagnosis SD Connect C4 Xentry 12.2015 or 03.2016 timeout error and not starting issues, which will automatically adjusts the pc date, launches the program, then 40 seconds later returns the correct date.

System ok:

Both Windows XP and Windows 7 O/S
Reason:

Too much to modify, the date is checked more than once during start up. Xentry 12/2015 and 03/2016 have a date lock on them to prevent them opening after 09/09/2016.
Fix to overcome the Xentry timeout error as of 12/15:

1- Free download XentryTimeout.rar and unzip：

(This fix automatically sets the date back, launches the program, then returns the correct date so the program can be run correctly. It also has a check to prevent it launching twice (which will trap the date at and incorrect setting) . It will also run just fine with the xp star shell in place.)

2- Copy start_Xentry.exe to the Xentry bin folder

3- Overwrite or rename the existing file

Note 1: this is version3, remodded to overcome asam3 error and add Xentry sim functionality

Note 2: in the windows control panel make sure short date format in “region and language” is set to dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy

Because this fix changes the system date automatically, Windows defender or other security programs may mistake it for a virus. Do not worry, it is perfectly benign, and will not harm your PC. Just add it to the exceptions list in your antivirus program.

(solved) 2016.9 XENTRY error “a fault has occurred”

Mbstartool.com engineers fixed the MB Star diagnosis v2016.9 XENTRY error “a fault has occurred” already!

When you click on the setup button in  SD Connect C4 Xentry 09.2016, the error message “a fault has occurred” pops up.

Just setup the date of your PC as 2016.09.05.

Then your Xentry will work like a charm.
