Benz Xentry Passthru 2221-45 Error Solution

 Problem:

Downloaded Xentry passthru version for the Openport 2.0 interface (Openshell version does not run) or other passthru device (vxdiag vcx se benz etc). 

Once installed, the capacity is quite large. Download capacity is 19GB

Has some problems during installation:

When the message QUI service pops up

1) Is message QUI http in administrator settings? After checking that, you can install it.

2) After installation, run config assist and enter starter key

If it doesn’t work, turn off the wifi.

You can do this by downloading the keygen.

3) If you run Xentry, you will probably get 2221-45 No access authorization error.

You can fix the error 2221-45 by fix file.

This is an error when installing for the first time.

If you see that your login is valid, delete it with that file.

XentryPassThroughService.xml in two files in notepad.

Solved by deleting and saving the second file from the bottom.

The path to the first recycle bin file you see is… Xentry Subpoldo Fusco? If you go there, delete that file.

If you get to this point, you can proceed roughly.

And before that, the OpenPort 2.0 drive must be installed, of course.

If you exceed das, the effective date will be 0 days. That too.

 

If the ignition doesn’t turn on and off again.

Ignite from Google (get the Ignition file and run it). It is ok.

Openport 2.0 and Xentry Passthru Error 99.58642.0 Solution

 Problem:

I managed to resolve an annoying communication error (99.58642.0) that I have been experiencing for a while when trying to scan certain vehicle models using XENTRY Pass Thru 23.6.3 with my Tactrix Openport 2.0 and GODIAG GD101 PassThru devices. E.g. my A45 AMG W176 would always throw Communication Error 99.58642.0 when trying to scan it.


If you have DTS9 installed on the same machine as XENTRY Pass Thru and have also imported the 'PassThruSupport' regkeys that have been provided on mhhauto and elsewhere so that DTS9 can recognise your PassThru VCI, then that is the cause of the this XENTRY Pass Thru communication error.

The DTS9 PassThru VCI regkeys floating around on here and elsewhere are basically just exports from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PassThruSupport.04.04" and then re-imported to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PassThruSupport.04.04" which allows DTS9 to recognise the PassThru VCI so it can be added as a VCI within the DTS9 settings.

The problem with these copied keys is that they seem to conflict with each other due to having the same key names (for some weird reason), regardless of them being in different registry locations. 


Solution:

They were the cause of my XENTRY Pass Thru Communication Error 99.58642.0, and here is what I did to fix it:

1. Open Regedit and navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PassThruSupport.04.04" and you will notice your PassThru VCI name as one of its subkeys. This is the location that DTS9 looks at when identifying PassThru devices.

2. Rename your PassThru VCI subkey. E.g. I renamed 'Tactrix Inc. - OpenPort 2.0 J2534 ISO/CAN/VPW/PWM' to 'Tactrix Inc. DTS - OpenPort 2.0 J2534 ISO/CAN/VPW/PWM'. You do not need to rename anything that sits under this subkey.

Doing this for each PassThru VCI that I use with both DTS9 and XENTRY Pass Thru has resolved the Communication Error 99.58642.0 that I was getting when trying to scan some models using my PassThru devices with XENTRY Pass Thru 23.6.3.

I replicated this conflict by re-adding the DTS9 PassThru regkeys shared on here and elsewhere and the error re-appeared, then manually renamed them again (as above) and the error vanished.

Author’s note:

This build is designed to be fast, easy, and hassle-free on the widest possible range of x86 computers with a high degree of compatibility. Statistics show an extremely low failure rate, and this is mainly due to problems with the PC on which the image is installed. Before installation, check the PC with any stress tester, HDD for errors in its operation, and also test the RAM using Memtest.

Keep in mind that Passthru is primarily used as a vehicle testing program. Use the block firmware functions only at your own risk.

The assembly is ideal as a personal diagnostic tool for home use without the significant expense of purchasing an expensive multiplexer.

DO NOT USE ANY FIXES, OPTIMIZERS, IMPROVEMENTS, etc. The system is fully optimized and does not require any additional actions. You perform any additional actions on the system on your own conscience, understanding the risks of a system failure.

 

What is NOT in the assembly:

– Passthru Truck Ceasar. Disabled at manufacturer level Xentry

– CBF interface in DTS Monaco for PartJ. Disabled PartJ support at manufacturer level DTS

– SMR interface in Vediamo 4. No Vediamo support at manufacturer level

– XUS online. For today, only pre-installed XUS works until a certain date. The build was released after XUS was blocked by the manufacturer. Use an alternative to SWFinder.

– Any certificates. Certificates are purchased separately from competent persons.

– Preinstalled DTS Monaco projects. Everyone uses their own projects, it makes no sense to add too much.

 

Activation and configuration:

– The image allows you to perform activation and configuration yourself. IS FREE!!!

– Additionally, auxiliary software, calculators, flash drives, projects, etc. are provided.

 

Add information :

– For GPT/UEFI, you will have to convert MBR to GPT

– Acronis 2021 does not work with all m2 disks

– The assembly has full functionality at the time of copying. If you have problems after installing ON YOUR PC, look for the problem in your PC, drivers, computer hardware, etc. Pay special attention to chipset drivers, they greatly affect PC performance.

Recommendation:

– Use a hard drive with a capacity of at least 20% larger than the installed image to give you some wiggle room when installing add-ons and other updates.

– Try to avoid installing on a PC with an UltraHD screen. Some programs do not support screen scaling.

– The assembly is set to work with OpenPort 2.0 by default. If you are using this plexor, there is no need to install drivers. If you are using another plexor, uninstall the OpenPort 2.0 driver before installing the drivers- Deploy the image only with Acronis 2021, it is included in the torrent distribution inside WinPE

– To install the image, prepare a 6Gb flash drive for WinPE installation ( Acronis 2021) and an external HDD for the image ( 125+ Gb).

Xentry Passthru with Openport 2.0 Pros and Cons

 The Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 has been confirmed working with xentry passthru version. What capabilities and limitations are with running Xentry on the Openport 2.0 interface?

Pros:
  • This combination is useful for ECUs with CAN capability.
  • It’s a good reasonably priced option if you don’t need to do any module updates.
  • The OpenPort 2.0 interface will allow Xentry to communicate with your Mercedes using the J2534 standard.  This will generally communicate with vehicles 2003 and newer that use OBD2 for diagnosis.
  • I have a Tactrix and it works great for most things however for flashing certain modules it doesn’t work as good as a more expensive J2534 device (Snap-on Pass Thru Pro II, CarDAQ Plus, J-Box) device or a C4/C5 etc, multiplexer.
  • I used it to run all of the A/C diagnostics on my car, recalibrate the vent control thumbwheels, test a few actuators, run the intercooler pump, and check the weight sensing system (which needs to be recalibrated), The only thing I can’t do right now is SCN coding and programming, which requires an active M-B account. For normal troubleshooting and diagnosis, though, it rocks.

Cons: 
  • The Openport is missing some protocols so it doesn’t get to a point where it could brick a module.. It has no K-Line support and no CAN-L, so no ISO 14230 for SIM4 LE ECUs (M111Evo). Any vehicle using a 38-pin connector or HHTWIN for diagnosis will not work. You ideally use Xentry Pass-thru with these devices, and a subscription is available from Daimler, however it is limited to programming and reading faults from the engine ECU and transmission TCU up to 2017. 2018 and newer vehicles are given full diagnostic capabilities.
  • You are able to communicate with modules you need to but sometimes you will get error codes or the vehicle/computer doesn’t recognize the interface but after another attempt or 2 it will work.
  • Some of them have a OBD power supply bug. If you plug them into the OBD port without USB cable and no LED flash you got it, that means all power has to come from the USB cable which is not 100% reliable. (You have to choose the right Openport without power supply issue)
  • Openport 2.0 works with Passthru version only. does not work with MB SD C4/C5 standard OpenShell version.
  • Tactrix is missing some protocols so it doesn’t get to a point where it could brick a module. It’s a good reasonably priced option if you don’t need to do any module updates.
  • If you want to work with vediamo you can’t use vediamo 5 (4 can’t use smrd files) because vediamo 5 doesn’t support Passthru so your “stuck” with DTS Monaco

 

VXDIAG C6 also has some problems with the old K-line Mercedes. Stick with the C4 or if you want to spend a little more and do DOIP (command radio programming models 2016 and up ), the MB SD C4 DoIP. Clone will work fine along with Xentry Openshell. Passthru software only works with J2534 devices.

Xentry Passthru Review on Benz W212

 What is Xentry Passthru:

XENTRY Pass Thru EU is Mercedes-Benz vehicle diagnosis solution for independent workshops. The software runs on any workshop PC and commercially available Pass Thru equipment.

Xentry Passthru is different from regular Xentry openshell. Xentry passthru does not use SDconnect toolkit. When you launch the program it will give you a dropdown where you can choose which J2534 device. If you are keen to do proper Xentry grade health scanning, but not coding say for START STOP be gone, but can do lots of TEST, go and get Xentry PassThru.

The right to repair in Europe and USA has made car manufacturers to abide by certain rules, where an Indy shop can access ( for an hourly fee ) manufacturers servers to do certain ( not all ) repairs where the data will come from manufacturers server.
So those Indy workshop or petrol head can use certified J2534 interface box for many brands of cars , not only MB.

It is for any owner attempting DIY to not have this level of diagnostic capability.

I have used the GM MDI2, genuine AVDI, MONGOOSE PRO 2 CAN/ISO CABLE and TRACTIX OPENPORT 2.0. As long as the device is capable of J2534 protocol, it should work. Of course Xentry PassThru only works on CAN modules. So it’s safe to say that it should work with 2006 and up vehicles. I was hoping AVDI would work with Xentry PassThru with all modules, but that is not the case.

It looks like that, because if i chose a 204 and try to read the FIN/VIN of the 205
is reads it correct, but the software notice is the wrong series/model and stops.
This prove that there is no problem with Actia or VAS5054 interface, it is only
software problem/bug because the install is on 32bit.
Also Actia software is able to diagnose many units, but not all.

Almost all J2534 compatible devices. Fron expensive VXDIAG passthru to a 15 bucks X-horse toyota vci. But FORD VCM II rotunda, ACTIA and Mongoose works best.
Invest in a Ford VCM, it will work for JLR, toyota, Honda, FORD/MAZDA, GM, few others with a ini modification and off course MB pass thru.
China re-flash VCM to work for Maserati and Ferrari.
MB VCI is so similar to VCM. China coming soon.

i myself use Dell latitude win7x64 PRO, chipsoft mid (usd131) and pro (usd218) as my adventure with xentry passthru. i chose chipsoft because it can handle 24v (max 35v). i bought the famous VAS5054A (usd 60) too but don’t touch it yet because it can’t handle 24v (max 17v). i guess chipsoft lite (usd89) is worth to try too.

i am help by Denis (owner and developer of chipsoft). He is a savant.
He helps update the drivers several time to help me to achieve what i want.
The first driver when i get, it does not work with xentry/das and vediamo for mercedes vehicles 24v.
Pro:
– Actros: All ecu are okay but not GM. Still under research but i am already boring right now.
– Axor MB INA (all k-line ecu): Great working now
– Bus OHXBC, OC500 (all k-line ecu): at last, all are great now
Cons:
– device insulation is not good. i already burn one mid and one pro.
i don’t think it is good for a long term use for 24v unless Denis want to add that protection.
Comparing with partD (C3) and SDConnect
– the price (almost the same)                      –

COM port does not matter it appears; i reinstalled MVCI and left it at default COM 3 and connection to 2017 GLA250 x156 was successful.
Battery appears right after selecting vehicle then XENTRY diagnosis and should not take time — see screenshots below

This was on the latest firmware (1.5.5 from memory) and in passthrough mode it initially looked good showing voltage but then when trying to connect to the car after ticking the ignition box in Xentry an error from the VXDiag is raised saying “Error License for Function: BENZ” and then Xentry throws an error. The device is licensed for Passthru and Toyota so it seems they prevent this from working in the driver. I’ve mailed Allscanner to see if it’s a device or license limitation.
OTC VIM for Toyota (think this is actually a Bosch device).
Unfortunately even with the passthrough driver Xentry didn’t see the car voltage and just throws an error saying voltage is too low.
Volvo DiCE.
This actually works quite well and sees most modules – a few said they couldn’t talk to the car ECU so guessing there’s a protocol missing but overall it ran through the quick test and got the info I needed (ie software versions).
I’m wanting to update the firmware of the NTG5s1 and from what I’ve read you need a DOIP device to do it so I’ve got a VXDiag C6 on the way – from what I’ve read here and elsewhere it’s slower than the other devices but should do the one off I need.
I’ve got a W212.001 so DAS has it as a prototype and errored out – not sure if that’s because of the Volvo DiCE module so will see how it behaves when the C6 and disk arrive. Hoping I can sort some firmware out.
I actually took the car to a local Merc specialist yesterday and paid £120 for them to do it but when I got there 3 hours later they couldn’t do it – I’m guessing because they had an old non DOIP SDConnect so instead of messing around I’ll try and do it myself!
