DAS Missing Development data in SAM Smart 451 solution

Wanna activate DRL in SAM on a Smart 451 for the wife; however, it turns out my good old SD Connect C4 05.2012 Xentry/DAS machine is missing the “Development data button” in SAM

I have “Diagnosis to plant specifications button” in KI on 451

It’s the same issue in SIM as on the car

I can access all development data in SAM on Smart 450, 452, 454.
But no SAM dev access in the bloody one i just bought…..

SOLVED !!!
Started a topic in the forum… Wait but no one could help me, so i did some “development” my self..

Changed all “LIC_Erstellerdaten” entries to “LIC_Entwicklungsdaten” in the 4 menu files attached

If you want development data in SAM on Smart 451’s then change your current 4 files with the edited ones in my attachment.
Files are located in this folder F:\Programme\DAS\trees\smart\AC451\SAM_451\menues

You will now have “Diagnosis to plant specifications” in your main SAM menu.

Don’t forget to back up the old ones in case i have messed something up

MB Star DAS Retrofit Benz W204 Rear Lights

Here is a little tutorial on Mercedes-Benz W204 rear lights retrofit by using MB Star diagnosis DAS software with SD Connect C4 multiplexer.

Disclaimer: This is for W204 chassis only. You are at your risk.

Start DAS Developer and do the usual “quick test”

(all our DAS comes with developer mode)
Open op the REAR SAM module:

Go to Development data

Select control unit adaptions

Go to the Control unit adaptions (Variant Coding)

Go to the Parameter Lichtfunction:

Change the coding according to the below screenshots:

Save the config

Select yes:

Now shut down MB Star DAS, shut down the car and lock it, now start the car again and everything should be working correctly.

Change W222 Radio Speed Meter Temperature from US to EU via Xentry

I have a Mercedes-Benz w222 manufactured in the USA. I want to convert the radio and speed meter and temperature from F to C.
It means change speed meter from mph to Km/h , and command (Head Unit) from US to ECE , it will via xentry?

I am new at this field. Any one know how to change it be xentry or vediamo ?
I have MB SD Connect C5 and  Dell D630 Star Diagnostic Tool With Vediamo V5.00.05.

Ps. here is the ECU chassis number :WDDUG8CB9EA009893

Solution by experienced MB technician: 

ECU version is required so can get the steps. They vary from car to another.

According to your chassis Number, this is the ECU details:

Diagversion: IC222_E007_2_Muster

Steps Via Vediamo
1- go to CBF FILE (IC222)
2- Select ECU Variant (IC222_E007_2_Muster)
3- Tab Coding then Variant Coding
4 Coding window will open up

For the temperature C Scroll down o Anzeigeeinheit Temperatur (Unit_Temp) and Choose C.

All other Functions are in the same window

Steps Via Xentry
After reading the car go to the ECU Called IC- Instrument Cluster (A1)
Then choose Author data then click on alle_Codierungen. on the right side choose whatever coding you want to change. It should do if the function is available.

How to change DAS XENREY start menu picture

It’s a customer interesting setup on changing a picture of MB Star diagnosis DAS XENTRY software interface. Here is what he shared for all:

I was playing around with DAS the other day, changing things when i came across a picture of Xentry

So i decided to change it and it worked…

I think you guys can change it so that it displays your shop logo every time you start DAS or picture that you like.

It takes couple of tries but once perfected it can be used on other systems as well

When you change it, just make sure it’s confined to standards such as

Code:

File must be in location C:\Program Files\Mercedes-Benz\DAS\bin

File name must be “XentryDAS 991×620.bmp”

File must be in “bmp” format or Bitmap image (.bmp)

Width must be 991

Height must be 620

”

1. Extract VediamoV050005.iso file on the desktop

2.Open the unzipped file

3. Open read me file before installing software

1) setup and install

2) “Patch” and replace all files in “C:/Program Files/Vediamo/BIN”

3) Run Vediamo from Desktop shortcut and post here your HD-ID

4) “HW-ID”Please give it to your seller

Detail Mercedes Vediamo V5.0.5 software installation guide:

1. Install Vediamo V5.00.05 setup

1) Open SetupVediamoV05005.exe on the folder

2) Select software language: German or English, press OK

3) Wait the system top detect then install the Vediamo Dignaotiscsystem 5.0 InstallShield Wizard, press Next

4) Press Yes to install Vediamo install notice

5) Follow system prompts

6) Click Finish when complete installing setup

2. Install Vediamo patch

1) Open Patch file on the folder

2) Copy all files in Patch folder

3) Right click “Vediamo Start Center” on the desktop>>Find Target >> replace all files in “C:/Program Files/Vediamo/BIN”

3. Activate Vediamo

1) Please send the activation ID to mbstartool.com customer service for activation code (We provide one time free activation. For second time, price is 5USD.)

2) Copy and paste the activation code to the Registration Information blank

3) Press Register button

4) The Registration Succeeded

MB SD Connect C4 Device not in use and communication error

These are Mercedes MB Star diagnosis DAS and SD connect c4 communication solutions by mbstartool technicians:

DAS Fault (1.2)-2.503.9901 with the error “Communication failed”

MB SD connect c4 main unit displays “Device not in use”

This issue usually can be solved as follows:

– re-set IP address:

1) Connect MB SD Connect C4 with LAN cable
2) Open Virtual Network Editor and use vmnet0 (Auto-Bridging )
3) Install (2 ) Local Area Connection
4) Set IP:

Local Area Connection ( 1 ) IP 172.29.127.XXX this for IP MUX
Local Area Connection ( 1 ) IP 192.168.1.XXX this for IP network or IP Network you use

5) Make configuration for SD connect wireless,

(SD C4 usually solve the issue after IP re-match)

– setup the PC date

The date must be the same as the software version

E.g. Your DAS is 2016.09 version, then your PC date should be 2016/09

– replace the Config file in c:\program\mecredes-benz\config

(this is for MB STAR C3 users)

2015.12V SD Connect C4 offline programming aborted solution

One of the user feedback that he had problem to carry out offline programming by using MB Star diagnosis 2015.12V DAS. Here is the error analysis.

Problem:

He has ordered the Setting Up Offline Mode In Old DAS service to open offline programming function. He uses SD Connect C4 2015.12V DAS software.

After open the authorization, he then access to control module programming, but the DAS display error message “The procedure was aborted by the user”

Reason:

Offline programming requires to work with old DAS pre-2014.7. Newer DAS will not perform offline programming.

V2015.9 up MB Star C3 Mux Initialization Failed Solution

Here is the mbstartool.com engineer solution to MB Star C3 V2015.9 up DAS Xentry multiplexer initialization failed problem.

Error message:

Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed.

Possible causes:

The link between the diagnosis multiplexer and the diagnostic socket is interrupted.

The link between the diagnostic multiplexer and the diagnostic unit is interrupted.

The voltage supply at the diagnostic socket (circuit 30 and (or) circuit 31) is faulty.

Note:

When using SDconnect,check the connection status using the Toolkit.

Solution:

1. First check if you use the correct software for Star C3 not SD Connect C4, you do not modify software by yourself and it passes self-test.

If all these are okay, replace the Config file in c:\program\mecredes-benz\config

It’s a customer solution to Mercedes MB Star diagnosis DAS fault (1.2)-2.503.13011 error. Here is what he talked about the SD connect error and the solution helps.

Error message:
