MB SD C4 “HTT-WIN is not available in this system”

A Mercedes MB Star diagnostic system holder contact our technician that his SD Connect C4 got the error “HTT-WIN is not available in this system” when adjust WSA-FL front left electric seat for his W208.



Error cause:

HTT WIN is an older software for old Mercedes Benz models. MB SD Connect C4/MB Star C3 (2015 Ver. later) comes with newer DAS/Xentry software program.

If you need to diagnose older model with HTT, please use older version pre-2013 star diagnostic software.

MB SD C4 Enable OAT (Outside Air Temp) display

Share my experience here! Yesterday, I have used MB SD connect c4 to display the outdoor air temperature on the status line of the bottom instrument cluster display.

I used:

SD Connect C4 diagnostic tool

Latest version 2016.03V Xentry

Laptop with Win 8 operating system
Steps to display the OAT:

Change the National identity from GB to Nederlands(my choice) as GB cars are prevented from displaying the temperature on the statusline.
In the Body Control Unit Menu
select Rear Sam
select Control Unit Adaptations
then National version of ATA function
now choose a suitable National version
and write change to Control Unit.
In the Instrument Cluster Menu
select Diagnosis to plant specifications
In the Main Menu of Control Module K16
select Control unit adaptations
In the Control unit adaptations menu
select Control unit adaptations (Variant Coding)

(if at this stage you select Menu-Werkseinstellung (Factory settings) and check the entry in Anzeige in Statuszeile you should find Geschwindigkeit if the car is UK registered. )

select Aktuelle Menueinstellung
change entries in
Anzeige in Statuszeile
to Aussentemperatur (3 times)
select Variantenkodierung
change Menu 04 to Vorhanden
enable Menu 05 and Menu 08

save coding and retire with a stiff drink.

MB SD C4 Dell D630 “windows is not genuine”

Here is the solution to Dell D630 (comes with the Mercedes MB SD C4 diagnostic scanner) windows is not genuine solution.

Problem:

A customer has got the MB SD Connect C4 2016.03 SSD and Dell D630 package. When power up Windows 7 system, the system display error “windows is not genuine. Your computer might be running a counterfeit copy of Windows ” and ask to enter product ID.

Solution:

Select “Ask me later” first

If you running Win7 SSD on Windows 7 O/S, download Dell D630 win7 active file. Run as Admin and restart the computer.

If you choose Win 8 SSD on Windows 8 and system display the same error,you download KMS_for_Win8.1. Run as Admin and restart the computer.

MB SD Connect C4 2014.7 Error code (506) solved

If you had Error code (506) with MB SD Connect C4 toolkit, reading at detailed: SDconnect is accessible and no connection to another diagnosis computer. (506)
No SDconnect is selected or the desired SDconnect cannot be selected.

You need to do as follows:
Firstly, connect to local area connection and check IP address setting, do as follows:
1). Click Local Area Connection
2). Right click Properties
3). Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
4). Choose Properties
5). Set IP address to: 172.29.127.119
6). Click Ok

Secondly, set wireless connection after local area connection settings is done.
1). at the right corner of the desktop click SDconnect icon
2). Enter into SDconnect Toolkit Administration
3). Click Register / configure
4). Select name 04
5). Tick off WLAN parameters, road
6). IP address set as: 192.168.2.200
7). Key- enter aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (26 a in total)
8). Click Start.

Change MB SD C4 Serial Number customer solution

Here is a customer solution of the easiest way to change the Mercedes Benz SD Connect C4 diagnostic system serial in the 24C02 eeprom with XPROG-M ecu programmer. It can be removed from the board or read with the chip clip. He just put a random number of his own, and there is a very small chance to get a number that is blacklisted.

After the serial change, the MB SD C4 multiplexer has to be programmed to delivery condition and then initialized again. After that the new serial becomes valid.
