How to solve MB Star Xentry not start problem

Here is the working solution to MB Star diagnosis SD Connect C4 MUX Xentry not start problem shared bymbstartool.com customer.

Problem
I applied the key but 12.2015 Xentry is still not working.  How do I fix it?

I changed the laptop’s date as the software version but the problem is not fixed xentry will still not load.


Solved!
I have fixed the problem…
2.       Turn on VM, delete all lic_key in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LicDir leave only lan.id DO NOT DELETE lan.id
3.       Set VM month/year to 12.2015
4.       Disable windows internet time sync in VM
5.       Reboot VM and check month/year should still be 12.2015
6.       Setup Xentry key in StarKey Manager, Xentry fixed

Xentry StartKeyCenter Language Change Guide

Share my trick for changing StartKeyCenter SKC language on standard Windows XP running MB Star diagnosis SD Connect C4 Xentry 12.2015 by modifying SKC.properties file which worked for XDOS no problem.

Basic info:
StartKeyCenter is the software that can help get complete Licence information (Hardware ID, App ID, StartDay, ExpirationDay), then click “Generate” to get License String

Here goes to SKC language setup…

First, you need Multilingual User Interface Pack for your language.

Try going to E/Service/LangPrep and double click MUISetup.msi and remove the language you don’t want and only leave English.

I’m currently trying to figure this out but it more than likely has to do with the Multilanguage User Interface that’s set to English. You need the MUI pack to add other languages. If you can find it let me know because I need the English version.
The answer is:
Go to E:\Service\SKCstandaloneSD\StartKeyCenter\SKC.properties
Open with wordpad and change language to desired language

How to solve HHT-WIN internal fault code 10766

Problem:
I bought the MB Star diagnosis SD connect C4 diagnostic system. I have installed the XDOS 2015.12V DAS Xentry on Dell D630 laptop, but it gave me two errors:

Error 1:
HHT-WIN display error “Internal fault Diagnosis multiplexer Code:10766”

Error 2:
Fault (1.2) Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed.
Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed.
Possible reason:
1: HHT error: 2015.12 or newer 2016V Star diagnosis software does not come with HTTWIN software. If you need to troubleshoot old Mercedes, better go for Star software pre-2015.09V.

2.Multiplexer failed: We can see from the error screenshot, MB SD connect C4 icon didn’t show on the status bar which indicates you have not set the SD Connect C4 correctly, so the MB SD C4 is not well communicate with vehicle.

Erase Mercedes SBC error code C2359 by SD Connect C4 DAS

It’s my personal experience here…
I have a problem with the SBC unit, with the regular SBC error code C2359, after I did reset the counter. I read that there has to be made changes in EEPROM and somewhere else I read that there has to be soldered a cable on the circuit.

I used DAS Developer and SD Connect C4.
Here is what i did to solve SBC unit error C2359
Start Engine
–> Start DAS
–> Choose car/model
–> Entwicklungsdaten (developer data)
–> Ansteuerung (control gear)
–> Gesamtliste aller Ansteuerungen (complete list of all the control circuits)
To see the amount of usage brake pedal
–> Bremsenzahler (DJ_GetBrLive) (brake payer (dj_getbrlive))
Then chose 1 line underneath:
–> Bremsenz hler aktualisieren und Lebensdauerzahler F neu berechenen (brake upgrade and lifetime payer payers recalculated f)
Set –> Parameter uINBR = 0
Then –> click “F3”
Chose next line underneath: (or search line):
–> Bremsenz hler auf beliebigen Wert setzen (DJ_SetNBr)
Set –> Parameter uINBR = 0
Then –> click “F3”
Scroll down or search for line:
–> Lebensdauerz hler F neu berechenen (DJ_CalcLiveTime)
Set –> Parameter uINBR = 0
Then –> click “F3”
Chose line underneath:
–> Lebensdauerz hler F neu berechenen und schreiben (DJ_BuildAndWriteF)
Set –> Parameter uINBR = 0
Then –> click “F3”
Next step:
–> Log out of SBC
–> Log out of vehicle
Best would be to close DAS
Last step:
–> Let engine run at least 10 minutes or drive at least 10 minutes.
Now regular SBC error should be erased.

Super MB Star C3 Platinum Edition software update error

Here is the working solution to Super MB STAR C3 Platinum Edition software "Mysql database connection exception occurs" error.

Q: I bought the Super MB Star C3 Platinum Edition hard drive. When I do ESP special function in DAS, software prompt me to run an upgrade. But when i update the super mb star software on official website, it gave me error "Mysql database connection exception occurs".

SD Connect C4 cannot access some modules solution

I have a MB star diagnostic system with SD Connect C4 multiplexer. It worked without problem at the beginning. A friend borrowed it and now it behaves funny. It scans w204 well but for w203 it scans ezs and gateway only. It scans w164 to the fullest but only ezs on w163. What could be wrong?


Problem in detail:
I have a problem with my star diagnosis when I work on w203s. In the first picture this is what I get when I do a scan. It doesn’t scan the engine, transmission, bas. On the second and third pictures I wanted to code the fuel tank type on the instrument cluster and this are the messages I get and coding cannot be done.

I using MB SD C4 MUX with 2014.12V Xentry software version.
I have had it for 3 years now.

I have tried on other Mercedes cars, w163, w170 and the result is the same. It used to work before but after someone borrowed it, that is when I started experiencing this problem. I ran self test but I don’t know what to expect from the result.


Mbstartool.com engineer solution:
You have your Star tool for 3 years. The Xentry software is very old version. But your MB SD C4 main unit shows firmware version OS:2.3/CSD:2.10, the firmware version is new to 2015.  So your machine default firmware version won’t be this new. Contact your friend who borrowed your machine to ask if he tried to update/flash your SD C4.If yes, your software will not work with current C4 firmware.

If your friend had the same problem as you now when borrow your device. You properly should send back the unit for repair.
Note: Do try to use new 2015V 2016V Xentry software on this C4, they are not compatible with the firmware.

Replace Mercedes Brake Fluid with or without Xentry DAS

This is a how-to guide of successfully bleeding and replacing the fluid in the braking system on Mercedes-Benz E-Class and E-Class AMG, with or without MB STAR diagnostic tool SD connect c4 Xentry/DAS.

It’s posted in another place, and i think it’s useful to share it here for lots of discussion in forums, seeking for the detailed procedure. Hope this helps.


Apply to models:
Mercedes-Benz E-Class and E-Class AMG (2002-2009)

Reasons for brake fluid replacement:
As you drive your Mercedes-Benz E-Class over the years, constant use of the brakes can cause small amounts of air to enter the braking system through seals and fittings. This decreases braking performance and forces you to exert more effort when stopping the vehicle. This can also cause problems with the anti-lock braking system as well as the Sensotronic Braking Control (drive by wire braking) commonly found on E55 models.

Materials to use:
8mm, 10mm wrenches
Motive Brake Bleeder or a similar power bleeder of your choice
DOT 4 brake fluid
A syringe close to 60cc
An 8″ length of silicone hose that fits securely onto the end of the syringe
A bottle to capture brake fluid
1/4″ hose (8″ long)
Gloves and safety glasses


Need professional MB STAR Diagnostic Tool?
For owners with the Sensotronic Braking System: It is advisable to use an MB STAR Diagnostic Tool to bleed your brakes. This ensures the system has been bled 100%. As such, instructions with and without the STAR Diagnostic tool will be covered.

How to Replace Brake Fluid on Mercedes?
Warning:
Remember that brake fluid is corrosive. It can remove the paint from your vehicle. Wear gloves and safety glasses.

Step 1 – Remove the old fluid from the reservoir

Use the syringe to remove as much fluid as you can. If your model has a plastic cover over the reservoir, remove it by turning the two fasteners near the windshield 90 degrees. The front attachment point will slide out. Add fresh brake fluid to the reservoir.

Step 2 – Install the brake bleeder

Fill the bleeder’s container about 3/4 full with brake fluid. Secure the cap and hose onto the reservoir.

Step 3 – Build the pressure to 2 bar (29 PSI)

It is important to build to this pressure to allow two check valves in the ABS system to open. This will ensure all air has been fully purged from the system.

Step 4 – Begin the bleeding procedure

Remember to first loosen the lug nuts on the wheel you are removing unless you are using an air/electric impact wrench. Use jack stands when working under the vehicle.
If you are using the STAR diagnostic tool Xentry/DAS, begin by navigating to the SBC control unit screen and selecting general servicing.

Then, select “replace brake fluid.”

For those that are not using STAR diagnostic tools, begin by attaching your 1./4″ hose to the bleed nipple, and place in into the bottle. Follow the STAR bleeding sequence in the figure above. For E63 owners, your bleeding sequence will be reversed for the front wheels. Open the bleed screw a 1/4 to 1/2 a turn. Watch as the fluid begins to enter the bottle and notice how the old fluid is darker in color. Once the fluid appears new, tighten the bleed screw and proceed to the next wheel, repeating the process.
Remember to keep an eye on the brake fluid level in the reservoir as well as the bleeder. Verify the pressure is holding at 2 bar on the gauge.

Tip:
ATE makes DOT 4 brake fluid known as “super blue.” It is blue in color and makes it easier to tell when the new fluid reaches the brake caliper.

Step 5 – Finish the bleeding procedure

For STAR users, your next step will be to attach your 1/4″ hose onto the brake bleed valve, and place it into the bottle. Then hit “f3.” Crack the brake bleed valve open as the system builds pressure. You will hear valves open and close followed by a burst of fluid. The flow of the fluid will become steady. Continue by following the directions on the STAR menus.

The front calipers will have two bleed screws, both inside and outside. The outside is bled first.

There will be a couple more screens that are self explanatory. After which you can remove the pressure bleeder and level off the brake fluid reservoir at, or slightly below, the max.
With the SD connect c4 running with Xentry/DAS, you can run a S.B.C. pressure test that verifies your system is holding at the correct PSI level. The factory level is 90 PSI. Your system should be near that specification.

Users not using the STAR tool will follow the same procedures for disconnecting the power bleeder and filling their reservoir to the correct level.

Step 6 – Re-install the plastic reservoir cover

Turn the ignition on and off, then check for codes with STAR diagnostics MB SD Connect C4 scanner.
